THE three-day Morogoro Invitation Swimming Gala which begins today at Morogoro International School has drawn 147 swimmers, who are ready to showcase their talents.
Confirming this yesterday to the ‘Daily News’ was Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) Secretary General Ramadhan Namkoveka, who said everything was ready ahead of the event.
“We believe that all the 147 swimmers will utilise well this opportunity in order to improve their individual skills as well as their personal best time of completing the race,” he said.
According to the TSA boss, the swimmers have been drawn from different schools and clubs: Hopac School (10), Wagon (11), Swimmers Bluefins (25), Dar Swimming Club (25), Taliss (18), Scis (2), Champion Rise (1) and MIS Plranhas from Morogoro (55).
Namkoveka further said today’s event will begin from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, while tomorrow, the hot competition is slated to begin from 7:30am to 5:30pm and on Sunday, the event is scheduled to start from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
Adding, Namkoveka said medals will be given to first, second and third position occupants in that order.
